London Story
I have spent a lot of time in London and consider the capital to be one of my favourite places due to its cosmopolitan atmosphere and diverse culture. Some of the many people that I have met there and photographed have been included in this drawing.
I wanted to create art that depicted subliminal oppressive authority over our daily life. There are several hidden messages in this piece, for example:
a cat amongst the pigeons
looking away from the truth
accepted vs perceived antisocial alcoholism
How many can you spot?
At first, I drafted a rough copy using pen and watercolour, but I wanted to improve the lines of perspective and vanishing points, having a perfectionist nature, so I made a second drawing. The black and white outline completed, I then decided it didn’t want to risk spoiling it with colour so left it as it is.
The original has not been wasted but has also been sold as a print.
